Reprint 3rd edition - limited copies (re-run)
Four months after Raffles landed in Singapore, he granted a piece of land to London Missionary Society to commerce activity. Five months later, the first missionary arrived. Today, 14.6% of Singapore's population of four million call themselves Christians.
This book seeks not only to chronicle the major events that took place but it also aims to provide an understanding as to why these occurred and how they affected the life of the church. Themes like reasons for the failure of early missionaries, contributions of mission schools, coming of Asian immigrant Christians, church's response to social needs, legacy of John Sung's ministry, effects of the Pacific War, rise of para-church organisations, spiritual renewal in the 70's, changed mood of the 80's and continued growth in the 90's, are discussed frankly.
The author believes that behind the movements of men and nations is the unerring hand of God. "In His Good Time" attempts to show how this has been so.
